I arrived at Bob 94-9 in June of 2008 and it has been the most fun I've had in my radio career. I am leaving to take a new job in Austin Tx, and I wanted to take a minute to thank you for letting me be a part of the coolest radio station I have ever worked at.
'Friends' Reunion: The One That Started With a Rumor...: Rumors of a 'Friends' reunion set the internet into a frenzy, after a Tulsa radio station posted an image of the iconic Central Perk couch with the phrase 'Friends. The one with the reunion. Thanksgiving 2014. Click here to see what everyone has to say!
In the wake of tragedy even one of the bitterest rivalries in professional sports can seem trivial. It was with that spirit that the New York Yankees paid tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings on Tuesday night by playing the Fenway Park theme song, Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline," at Yankee Stadium. The song has been a staple at Fenway since 2002. Diamond took note, posting on Twitter, "Thank you NY Yankees for playing 'Sweet Caroline' for the people of Boston. You scored a home run in my heart. With respect, Neil #OneBoston." The Yankees also gave a shout-out to Boston on the scoreboard with a special image that displayed the Yankees and Red Sox logos with the words, "New York stands with Boston…Pray for Boston." Prior to the game between the Yanks and the Arizona Diamondbacks, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said it was appropriate to "put the baseball teams aside" and show "we're all behind the people in Boston." In Miami, "Sweet Caroline" was also played in Marlins Park at the bottom of the eighth inning, inspiring two fans to wave a large American flag in tribute to the marathon bombing victims.
